Caution - some suspension forks
contain pressurized gas or air !
For those of you attempting to service your
fork for the first time, please be careful, some suspension units operate
by using pressurized gas or air, you must release this before any
disassembly. Often non pressurized units will build up
pressure internally, again caution is advised when opening the
fork.
Rear shocks are dangerous to the
unsuspecting, please research the information concerning rear shock
service on the manufacturers web site, or owners manual before
disassembly. Be aware that rear shocks
are gas charged, some with more than one pressure chamber.
If you have a rear air shock that does not
extend to full length or is " stuck down " consider
the unit due for service. Do not attempt to
disassemble any shock with these symptoms
!
